A NOTE FROM COACH CRYSTAL
Just wanted to give you an update on what I know for our upcoming fall season. Unfortunately, it’s not much. MSHSL will be meeting and presenting their plans the week of August 3. I will not know any more until that week. A MSHSL committee began meeting last week to discuss return to play procedures. Do not expect any guidelines or decision until after the Governor and MDH release the return to school guidelines the week of July 27th and after the MSHSL board meets on Aug 4th. As a result, we will hold off on opening registration until we get direction from the MSHSL.
Currently there are so many variations and options! What I can tell you is that our district and administration is doing what they can to prepare, I am preparing for many options and our coaching staff will be prepared as well. I ask that you remain flexible and understanding as we go through it all.
Tryouts begin August 17. Because of the potential for needing to restructure things, I do not have specific times yet.
Team practice schedules will be posted after August 3, once we know the direction to take. Assume practice every day, M-F.
Up to date games and tournaments are on the website calendar...this frequently changes so please keep checking back!
There will be sand with the captains- SIGN UP HERE
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Summer 2020 Updates Jefferson Volleyball
There are some updates for everyone regarding JHS Jaguar Volleyball for summer 2020. Here is the current plan in place for summer. If any player or parent is uncomfortable or feels unsafe in participating that is entirely understandable. As a program we will do everything to support all of our players during this time! Of course everything can still change and move around but hopefully we can get rolling on some things and support one another as we move forward.
Private lessons continue if possible
Small group lessons if possible
Open gyms if possible
Captains practices- Aug 10-13 @ 10am-12pm
I am highly recommending our JAG Power program this summer! You should have received an email from Athletic Director Chad Nyberg with details regarding 2020 Summer Jag Power. Registration will open, Monday, June 15th at 9 am and the program will start on June, 22nd. Training sessions will be offered from 8-11 am starting every 20 minutes. If all slots fill, we will consider adding more slots.
If you want to be working out with your teammates make a plan and get into registration right away! The program is going to utilize a lot of body weight training as well as footwork, speed and agility. These are all areas we could work on! Get registered, be with your friends/teammates and get ready for an amazing season this fall!!!
