August 25, 2019 - Coach Crystal

Crystal begins her 7th season as the head coach at Jefferson. In the past years at Jefferson, we have had many successful teams, including a conference championship and a trip to section finals! Competition and winning is just a part of why Crystal coaches. She enjoys seeing players throughout the program grow on and off the court. Previous to Jefferson, she spent 5 years at Lakeville South as the JV/Varsity Assistant and 1 year at Eden Prairie. She also coached for Northern Lights for 8 years before taking time from club for her family. Outside of volleyball, Crystal and her husband Adam, have 4 children, Alec, 14, Kaden, 10, Tyler, 8, and Reece 5 and a yellow lab named “Remmy” She is looking forward to seeing how far these players can go!

Varsity Assistant Coach- Molly Delander

I recently graduated with a communication degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. I have been playing volleyball all my life. It has been a huge part of my upbringing and has helped shape who I am today! I am a Jefferson volleyball and a UMD women’s club volleyball alumni. I can’t seem to get enough! I am more than excited to get the season kicked off and get to know all the girls in the program.

Varsity Assistant Coach- Marlon Johnson

Marlon has been coaching forever! He is the most passionate and caring coach we know of. His attention to detail and ability to motivate players is a blessing to have in the gym every day. Marlon spent 19 years coaching at Northern Lights before coming to Jefferson and is beginning his 5th season with the high school. He has high expectations for the season!

Varsity had an exciting start to the season this week! We played very competitive against a talented Eagan team, although we lost in 3. We came up with our first win against a strong Rosemount team on Thursday! We played strong the entire match and finished in 3. On Saturday, we attended the Eden Prairie tournament where we went 4-1, losing only to Minnetonka in 2 tight games. We beat Eden Prairie, Edina, Holy Family and Mankato. A 5-2 start to the season is nothing to complain about! We are looking forward to starting our conference play on Thursday against Benilde and then traveling to a fun away tournament in Marshall.

September 15, 2019 - Coach Crystal

Varsity has had a very busy week! We were in Marshall where we went 3-2 taking a couple of unfortunate losses (Waconia and LeSueur) but learning a lot as a team and beat (Owatonna, Eastview and Prior Lake). Tuesday was an awesome match against a talented Eden Prairie team! It took 5 games but we pulled it off. Thursday proved to be another tough match! We took on Minnetonka and although we could have done with a little better reffing, we played well, lost in 4 and learned we can compete with any team! We have had different players step up to challenges every game- it so fun to have an extremely talented and versatile team competing! Currently we are 10-5 on the season and are working hard to improve each day!

September 22, 2019 - Coach Crystal

Varsity had a slow start to the week, losing in 3 to Kasson on Monday. The girls were ready to get back into the gym for practice Tuesday and Wednesday, leave it behind them and prepare for conference opponent SLP. Thursday’s match proved to be a long and exciting one! We pulled off the win in 5 games! We remain undefeated in the conference (2-0) and 11-6 overall. We are looking forward to a great week and a fun cross-town rivalry match at Kennedy on Thursday!

September 29, 2019 - Coach Crystal

What a fun week for Varsity! We started with a big win against #5 ranked (AA) Concordia Academy! It was a great team effort and the girls just never let the ball drop! Thursday was the big cross-town rivalry against Kennedy. We won in 3 games and were able to try some things we’ve been working on in practice in a game situation. We took the weekend to enjoy Homecoming and we will be back to prepare for a tough week on Monday

October 7, 2019 - Coach Crystal

Varsity went 0-2 on the road this week :/ Tuesday we took the hike to Crystal’s hometown, New Prague. We struggled on the court and lost 0-3. We came back ready to play on Thursday! After taking the first 2 games from Chaska we just couldn’t close the deal! It was a disappointing loss 2-3. We had a fun time at the dance competition Friday as well! Regardless of the losses on the week, we are back in the gym preparing for the final few games of the regular season. It’s a busy couple of weeks for us as we have 3 matches and a tournament

October 13, 2019 - Coach Crystal

What a fantastic week for our team! It felt different having 3 practices in a row, something we don’t get to do outside of pre-season! But we were able to focus on details, including blocking, and they paid off! We completely shut down Chanhassen Thursday night, winning 3-0 with 16 total blocks! On Saturday, we competed at home in our tournament. We won all 4 matches and didn’t drop a single game- that led us to bring home the gold! Our overall record sits at 18- 8. We are looking forward to celebrating our parents and seniors this week and then onward to section competition!

October 21, 2019 - Coach Crystal

Our Varsity team finished the regular season with 2 wins last week! We beat Cooper 3-0 and then took on Lakeville North and came out with a huge win 3-2! The girls never quit and the match was tight, point for point in each game. I am incredibly proud of their resilience! Our regular season record ends as 20-8.

This week we begin our section play! We are the #1 seed in our section but will continue to play one match, one game and one point at a time. We still have big goals and we would appreciate all the support we can get!
