B SQUAD TEAM UPDATES & NEWS

August 25, 2019 - Coach Sieling

Coach Sieling is starting his 19th or so year coaching volleyball for Jefferson. He enjoys seeing the great improvements his b-squad teams make each year. He still plays sand volleyball once a week and spent the summer traveling around the country with his daughters, Cassie and Ellie. They played sand in Florida, Wisconsin, California and Oregon. He is looking forward to another great Jags VB season!

September 1, 2019 - Coach Sieling

After losing our first two matches to two good teams, the B-Squad earned our first wins at the Eden Prairie Tournament and finished 2-3. We show signs of greatness at times and look like we can beat any team, but we still need to work on consistent passing and serving. We are looking forward to our home opener against Benilde, as it is always a good match for us.

September 15, 2019 - Coach Sieling

After picking up our first conference win against Benilde, the B-Squad lost to Eden Prairie and Minnetonka this week in two hard-fought matches. We keep improving, but are still dealing with a few injuries. We hope to be back to full strength against our next conference opponent, SLP, on Thursday. We are also looking forward to our own tournament on Saturday.

September 22, 2019 - Coach Sieling

The B-Squad started the week with a 2-1 win over Kasson-Mantorville, followed by another win over a conference opponent, SLP. We are still undefeated in the conference! At the Jefferson Tournament on Saturday, we finished 3rd with a 3-2 record. We are 8-8 on the season now. This week Tuesday we will be off since Concordia has no B-Squad team. We are very excited to face cross-town rival Kennedy on Thursday, though. Hope to see lots of fans there!

September 29, 2019 - Coach Sieling

The B-Squad had only one game last week since Concordia Academy did not have a team for us to play. We won 2-0 against Kennedy on Thursday to stay undefeated in the conference and improved our record to 9-8. We are looking forward to the New Prague and Chaska matches this week.

October 7, 2019 - Coach Sieling

The B-squad prevailed 2-0 in an early match against New Prague on Tuesday night before traveling to conference rival Chaska on Thursday. Chaska easily won the first game when our passing fell apart, but we stormed back to win the next two games, winning the deciding game 15-7! Our overall record is now 11-8 and we remain undefeated in the conference. We hope to keep our winning streak going with just three matches left.

October 13, 2019 - Coach Sieling

The B-squad lost two close games to Chanhassen on Thursday night, bringing our overall record to 11-9 with two matches remaining. Depending on Chanhassen's record, we could still be 1st or 2nd in the conference. Regardless, the team has improved a lot since the beginning of the season, and we are hoping to finish strong against Cooper and Lakeville North next week. 

October 21, 2019 - Coach Sieling

The B-squad finished the regular season last week with a win against Cooper and a loss against Lakeville North. Our overall record stands at 12-10. We also found out that the Chanhassen B-squad had two losses, so with our only loss to them, our B-squad ended up as conference champions! It was fun to see how much improvement we made individually and as a team from the beginning of the season to the end. I hope to see all of the B-squaders at all of the section games at Jefferson!!!
