When are tryouts?

Tryouts will take place August 17–19, 2026.
Arrive at the gym by 7:00 AM each day.
Attendance all three days for the entire time is required.
You must attend tryouts to be placed on a team.

Teams will be posted Aug. 19 by 3 p.m. under "Teams and Coaches" on the website.
Are there required meetings after teams are announced?

Yes. There are mandatory parent and team meetings after teams are announced on Aug.19:
Team Meetings: 4:30 or 5 p.m. (depending on team)
Parent Meeting: 6 p.m.
All meetings will be held at Jefferson.

All players must be registered with the Jefferson Athletic Department BEFORE tryouts! Up-to-date sports physicals must be on file at school in order to register.

Fall season registration opens mid-July. An email will be sent from Jefferson and the Booster Club when it becomes available.

Do I need a physical to participate?
Yes. You must have a current physical on file with the high school.
Physicals are valid for 3 years from the exam date.
Forms are available online and in the school office.
Please double-check that yours is current now.

How long is the high school volleyball season?
How long is the high school volleyball season?
The regular season runs through Oct. 23 for 9A, 9B, B squad and JV. Varsity will continue with postseason tournament play after Oct. 23.
What does the practice schedule look like?

All teams practice every day after school.
Practices usually end between 5:00–6:00 PM, depending on the team and coach.
Preseason August practice schedules will be posted on the website by July at the latest.
After tryouts in August, expect a practice, game, or scrimmage every weekday.
